This article describes How to upgrade SPACK on Versa Director and CPE using Director

 

Prerequisite

  1. All Versa Headend components should be deployed
  2. The DNS /nameserver Information should be configured in resolv.conf file of Versa Director.

 

Configuration

 

Downloading the SPACK Package

1.    We can download the security package from a predefined SPACK server.

2.    Check whether you are able to ping “ https://spack.versanetworks.com/versa-updates “

3.    Just try wget https://spack.versanetworks.com/versa-updates in versa director command prompt.

 

 

We should be able to connect as shown in above snapshot.

 

4.    Select the “Edit SPACK configuration” and enter values as per the requirement. This configuration allows one-time download of the SPACK file. Scheduled download of the SPACK files related configuration is explained from point number 7.

5.    Now we can select the Package from the Drop Down and click on Download

 

6.    Download progress can be seen in Task

 

7.    Or we can Schedule for a Download ,by checking the option of Schedule Download


    1. Start Time : Select the start time
    2. Interval : It is interval in which the new SPACK will be downloaded
    3. Download Type :

                                          i.    Incremental—Downloads only the incremental update in the SPACK in the previous SPACK installed in Versa Director(Currently not supported)

                                        ii.    Full—Download the complete SPACK and overwrites the last installed SPACK on the Versa Director.(Recommended Setting)

 

Installing the SPACK Package

8.    Once it is downloaded, we can install the SPACK, for that we need to select the downloaded SPACK and click on install

9.    Then Select the Appliance and Click on Update Director 

 

10. After the Installation ,we can verify SPACK Package in Director and the CPE
