This article describes how to Configure NTP server on Versa FlexVNF CPE
Prerequisite
- Versa Headends should be Deployed
- We need to configure the DNS before configuring the NTP on the Director if you want to use FQDN instead of IP address. You can view this article for DNS configuration.
- In this example, we are using publicly available NTP server
Configuration
- In the Versa Director, Navigate to Administration > Appliances
- Select the Versa FlexVNF CPE for which the NTP server needs to be configure.
- Configure a Authentication key to validate the NTP server.
- Navigate to Configuration > System > Time & Date > Key ID.
- Click on + in the right-hand pane and window will popped up
- Key ID: It is a ID of the authentication Key.
- Trusted: It is used to indicate whether the key is a Trusted key.
- MD5: Select the key type from the drop down menu.
- Value: It is a value provided for a key.
- To Configuring the Settings of NTP server, Navigate to Configuration > System > Time & Date > Time Setting.
- Click on Edit in the right-hand pane and window will popped up
- Select the Time Zone from the drop down menu and click on the NTP option.
- Click the + to add the Following Details
Server: 0.asia.pool.ntp.org is the FQDN pointing to random set of servers that will change every hour.
Key ID : 68 It is a ID of the authentication Key.
Routing Instance : The NTP server is reachable using the internet-Transport-VR.
Source Network :Select the Source Network.
Version: Select the version of the NTP server from the drop-down list.
iburst: Select the iburst checkbox to enable the iburst for the server.
Note: iburst is used to indicate that you want to retrieve from this server as soon as possible.
