This article describes How to upgrade SPACK on Versa FlexVNF CPE directly from SPACK server


 

Prerequisite

  1. All Versa Headends components should be deployed
  2. The Name Server Information should be configured in Versa FlexVNF CPE                                                      

 

NOTE: From release R2S11, Name Server knob is under "System" as "Domain Name Server"



And make sure that you are able to ping 8.8.8.8 this from the selected Routing Instance 

 

 


Configuration


  1. Navigate to Appliance > Branch2 > Configuration > Others > System > Security Package Update

URL :  https://spack.versanetworks.com/versa-updates ( Specify the URL from which you can download the SPACK.)

Routing Instance: Select the Routing Instance

Download Time Out: Specify the time (in minutes) for the download to timeout.

Daily Update : It will schedule daily update of the SPACK. This ensures the SPACK is always up to date to protect the appliances from the latest threats.

Realtime Update : It will allow real-time updates on the appliance. This ensure critical updates are upgraded on the appliance before the next SPACK upgrade is available for download.

Start Time : Select the time to schedule real time update on the appliance.

Interval : Specify a time interval after which the appliance re-attempts to upgrade the SPACK in case of a failure in an earlier attempt.

Download Type : Full—Download the complete SPACK and overwrites the last installed SPACK on the Versa FlexVNF(Recommended Setting).

 Incremental—Downloads only the incremental update in the SPACK in the previous SPACK installed in Versa FlexVNF(Currently not supported)


 

 

  1. Then click on OK

 

 

After the Update we can verify it in Versa Flex-VNF CPE
