The following table outlines Versa's recommended bandwidth and latency requirements for communication between key Versa components:
Component A | Component B | Recommended Latency | Recommended Bandwidth |
Primary Director | Standby Director | < 150 ms | 20 Mbps or more |
Director | Analytics | < 150 ms | 1 Mbps or more |
Director | VOS | < 250 ms* | 128 Kbps or more |
Director | Concerto | < 250 ms | 1 Mbps or more |
Concerto | Concerto | < 80 ms | 20 Mbps or more |
VOS (Branch) | Controller / Hub-Controller(HCN)** | Any latency supported | 128 Kbps or more |
* The Versa solution is successfully deployed in high-latency environments such as ships and aerospace, where the latency between the Director (headend) and the VOS (branch device) can exceed 500 ms. While the solution functions reliably under these conditions, users should be aware that operations such as image uploads, configuration pushes, and monitoring updates may experience slower performance due to the increased latency.
** If Hub-Controller(HCN) is also used for data plane traffic, make sure there is enough bandwidth capacity on Hub-Controller WAN to support your data requirements.
