Problem
The serial number of the CPE needs to be changed due to a problem with the device.
Solution
To replace a faulty branch/appliance with a new branch/appliance, you need to replace the serial number of the faulty device with the serial number of the new Return Material Authorization (RMA) device, in Versa Director. After updating the serial number, Zero Touch Provision the branch.
Follow these steps to update the serial number:
- Login to Director.
- Go to Director Context > Administration.
- In the left pane, select Inventory > Hardware.
- Select the appropriate device.
- Click Replace Serial Number on the right-hand Side.
- Update the Serial Number.
NOTE: Do not change any config or template other than the Serial Number.
- Perform Zero Touch Provisioning on the new branch/appliance to fetch all the configurations from the Director.
