Things to Examine, if the SIM is not identified as "present":

1) This can happen when the VOS is up and running, and somebody tries to insert the SIM.

2) End-User may have performed a "sudo reboot" or Reboot from the CLI/UI instead of removing the power cable.

3) End-User may have pressed the power button on the hardware.

4) End-User may have done a Versa Service restart instead of a physical reboot without removing the power cable.

Recommendation:

1) Remove the power cable

2) Gently place the SIM card into the SIM Slot, then push it all the way in until you hear a click, which confirms that the SIM is seated properly.

3) Now plug in the power cable

4) After the VOS is up and the services are running, you can run the below command again

  [admin@versa-flexvnf: ~] $ qmicli -p -d /dev/cdc-wdm0 --uim-get-card-status

   It should show present.

5) if it has multiple sim slot then perform above steps on each sim slot to rule out wrong cabling, specifically with lanner devices.
