Configuring LTE Using Versa Director

You can configure the LTE interface in the post staging templates (similar to configuring physical ports vni-0/0, vni-0/1 etc.). 


Click LTE icon to configure the LTE interface.


NOTE:  LTE supported interfaces are numbered from vni-0/100 to vni-0/103. 


Follow these steps to configure LTE using Versa Director:

  1. In the Director view, go to Workflows > Template > Templates and click to create a new LTE interface. This opens the Create Template window.


    Refer to Configuring LTE to configure the Basic tab.
  2. While creating a template using workflows, select the Interfaces tab and click LTE icon in the Device port Configuration section to add LTE(s).


  3. Click the Trash icon in the WAN Interfaces section to delete any additional WAN interface.
  4. Optionally, select the Split Tunnel tab to configure a split tunnel on the WAN link just like a regular ethernet link.


  5. Obtain an LTE link either from an internal modem on the device or from the external dongle.
  6. Ensure that the SIM card is active and working.
  7. Stage the device using URL ZTP or staging script. URL ZTP automatically tries all the available interfaces on the device.
  8. If the script is used to stage the device, use options -w 100 -d for WAN transport.

Versa FlexVNF auto detects the dongle/SIM and retrieves the IP.


Once the LTE link completion, It is recommended to unplug the power cable and plug it back in.

Verifying LTE Configuration

To verify LTE configuration:

  1. Run the show interfaces brief CLI command to view the list of available and configured interfaces.

  2. Run the show interfaces detail vni-0/100.0 CLI command to see the detailed information of the service provider.

  3.  Select the Summary tab in the Monitor dashboard to view the signal strength and network information of the LTE interface.


    You can also view the LTE interface status and signal strength in the monitor screen.
