While onboarding appliance, Connecting to appliance failed error is displayed on the task menu.

Solution

Following are some probable causes for the same:

> Director doesn't have reachability to the CPE.

> CPE doesn't have reverse route in Control-VR for Director's southbound IP/subnet.

Check the Control-VR routing table on the CPE to see if there is a route for Director's southbound IP via correct Controller (in case of multiple controllers).
