Configuring Syslog Notifications on CPE

Follow these steps to configure syslog notifications on CPE:

  1. Login to Versa Director.
  2. Navigate to Appliance Context > Configurations, and select an appliance.
  3. Navigate to Others > System > Options > Alarms > Add .
  4. Select Alarms/Threshold Alarms.
Follow this if you select Alarms:

    2. From the Severity drop-down box, select the severity for the alarm.
    3. In the Soak Time (sec) field, enter the time in seconds.
    4. Click and select destination from the drop-down box.
    5. To delete an existing destination, select the destination and click .
NOTE: If you select Threshold Alarms, you have options to set low/high severity and low/high threshold % values.
  5. Click OK.

NOTE : If syslog is configured on the CPE, these events will flow to syslog based on the selector in the syslog config. Also, Syslog does not associate to any Routing-instance, and hence runs on global VR. Therefore create a paired TVI tunnel between global VR and one of the Transport, Control or LAN VRs, through which it gets routed.  This will be simplified with GUI support in the upcoming 16.1R1-S2 release.
