Question: Unable to run any show CLI commands but ping to device, ipsec, bgp and SLA to device is up and customer traffic going via device is flaky, what could be the issue?

 

Answer:

 

Please check whether file system has become read-only. To verify file system has become read-only by running following command from versa device linux command prompt:

[admin@Customer71-CPE6: ~] touch /tmp/test

touch: cannot touch '/tmp/test: Read-only file system

 

 

If you get error as read-only file system, either disk got corrupted or linux file system got corrupted. Most of the time power cycling will fix the issue.

 

Since none of the commands works, power cycle command also may not work which requires physically rebooting the device.

If powercycle does not fix the issue, either disk or device needs to be replaced.
