Upload the image to CPEs prior to upgrade
Upload the image to SD-WAN devices prior to upgrade since uploading the image from director to SD-WAN device is going to take time. Initiate image upload from director to SD-WAN devices few days (atleast one or two days) prior to upgrade.
Click on “Upload Only” option in director to upload the image but not to upgrade.
Change maximum parallel uploads if needed.
By Default Versa director uploads images to 5 devices at time. If you prefer to upload image to more than 5 devices at a time, change max parallel upload using below director CLI:
Administrator@SDWAN-VOAE1% set system settings max-num-of-parallel-uploads ?
Description: Maximum number of parallel appliance upgrades
Possible completions:
<unsignedShort, 5 .. 100>[5]
Administrator@SDWAN-VOAE1% set system settings max-num-of-parallel-uploads 20

Go to Configuration -> Device Groups, chose device group and enter File upload BW limit and File upload Timeout.
Parallel Upgrade of Versa devices from Director
Once image is uploaded to SD-WAN devices, Initiate mass upgrade on all SD-WAN devices.
Follow best practices
Follow Versa guide lines for upgrades such as enable maintenance mode, upgrade active branch devices first etc.
